Given NATO’s proactive cyber-offensive (short of outright cyber-warfare) that NATO allies are already engaged in against its adversaries, data breaches represent more than mere negligence by corporate IT security teams: they are the visible collateral damage of ongoing, invisible cyber-aggression and retaliation.
Considering the blurring of civilian and military targets in state-sponsored cyberattacks are businesses effectively being asked to defend critical infrastructure from military grade cyber-offensives without having military-grade support from the governments of the countries they are operating in?
