About the Company

The Business Ombudsman Council is a consultative and advisory body of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (Resolution №691 dated November 26, 2014 and Memorandum of Understanding re the Ukrainian Anti-Corruption Initiative dated May 12, 2014) established in December 2014 to contribute to transparency in the activities of state, regional and local agencies, and state-owned or state-controlled businesses, and to prevent corruption.

The BOC is funded through a Multi-donor Account set up at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in 2014 and is designed to ensure the fair treatment of both individuals and organizations engaged in commercial activities in Ukraine. The donor countries include Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States and the European Union.

Setting up the BOC was jointly agreed by the Ukrainian Government, the EBRD, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the European Business Association (EBA), the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine (ACC), the Federation of Ukrainian Employers, the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
